Mike was cathed almost 7 days. The first 5 he didn't even realize. Was surprised

He had a fainting spell day 2 and his walks were curtailed for a few days

I had, however, also noticed urine had regained a normal color. No more coke color. Or maybe root beer! And his good coloring was likely transfusions more than anything, but looking pink again was sure a joy. I hate yellow!!!

I was pink for a good week after transplant. I had one transfusion the day after TP as I was anemic. But I was told that the pinkness is from blood flow being so much better. It was wonderful to be "pinked up" and healthy looking, like when I was in my early 20s and working as a dancer.

Susie, you are doing great! Support at home means so much! Just remember extra handwashing and rubber gloves for dirty jobs...both for you and your helpers. Keep counters and sinks and bathroom areas immaculate. Be very careful about consuming very fresh food. Wash everything. Remember that you are immunocompromised now and can't be too careful about avoiding infection of any kind. They are not requiring you to be near the hospital for 30 days?

Remember that it takes some time to get your strength back. They do want you to walk, but rest, also.

We look forward to your posting on here again regularly, but don't push it. I think you are going to do great! I am SO happy for you that you finally got your transplant. I know it's been a long wait.

Wrinkle today-my heart rate fell and BP spiked so gave me a new drug to correct it. Will get pill training tomorrow with the parents. I will be staying free of charge at a Marriott residential suite hotel for the first month. It is on the magnificent mile. Peeing improved. I am peri menopausal and I began to spot again. The nurses were concerned but I told them I do get occasional spotting no periods anymore.

Wow Susie - a month free at the Marriot and all you needed to do for it was get a liver transplant! Lol Seriously though, it sounds like you are doing great - and if you DIDN'T have any 'wrinkles' during recover, I would think that you were an alien or something! Bumps along the way are most definitely the norm after transplant.

I really am so happy for you (and your family!) - I know it's been a long haul to get to this point, but YOU MADE IT! From here on out, just do what your docs/coordinator tell you to do and I'm betting that you'll hit smooth sailing before you know it! Have a peaceful day, Susie.
