well its been 9 months since I was told that I had Alcoholic hepatitis and by stopping drinking and eating right I look and feel great! if anyone out there who needs advice or any tips just let me know and I will help you out.

When you catch alcoholic hepatitis in time, the damage to your liver stops. Sure there is damage. But clean healthy living will keep it from getting worse

Some folks can drink their life away and not have it become cirrhosis And then there is lucky you...one of the folks for whom alcohol is liver poison.

Keep up the good work. Live a long, happy alcohol free life!!!

I fixed my post

Not doing well from i phone

On way from parking lot to hotel I fell tonight

Over one of those curbs so the cars done go too far

And fell onto my rt knee. Rest ice and elevation so far

May need to see doc tomorrow. Hotel wanted to call ambulance but Fri nite of a holiday weekend seemed like 7-hour hospital visit and we were there 8.5 hours already today

Congratulations, Iceman! That is awesome news! That confirms what I've been saying...Alcoholic Hepatitis CAN be turned around if caught in time. Are you going to AA? If not, that would be insurance that you continue your life of sobriety.

Hi, Iceman. I was wondering how did you get your alcoholic hepatitis diagnosed? I, too, have been a drinker and was diagnosed with moderate fatty liver this March via ultrasound. Serum LFT and CT scan did not show anything more.

I'm having RUQ discomfort and frequently run into fatigue. Thus, I'm a little worried if I've crossed the line to be on the non-reversible side. Which ever it is, I've been adopting a healthy life style change but would like to know how you were diagnosed.

On no Carol! David is right, suits of armor for all caregivers, we've got to stop this incapacitation madness :)

Hope you mend quickly! Don't you love it when docs tell you to elevate for say, 12 hours a day....sure Doc and how many nurses will you be sending over to pick up the slack?

I've had a long painful but ultimately hugely rewarding experience of coming back from hospital admission over a year ago with ascites, low electrolytes etc to feeling and looking healthy today.

They thought i had confirmed cirrhosis, but with abstinence, good diet, meetings, new friends, hobbies etc, i came out at grade 4 out of 6 on the ishak fibrosis scale ( 6 is cirrhosis) biopsy feb 2013. Now i'm down to stage 2.

Very lucky. I could be back to stage 0 in 6 months to a years time, if i continue with my new life. It hasn't been easy, but the spirit is strong and you really feel great monitoring your new self, and feeling completely alive and in control inside. You (sadly) have to watch out because even close friends will try to convince you that you're better and can have an odd session.

No such thing. New life means new friends and old friends who respect your new self and a great future.
