Connie, you are so right about
the difference in technique/experience! And it's nothing against the 'underlings' either - but nothing beats the years of experience of 'been there/done that". (Robert's head honcho didn't have white hair, but a full head of perfect gray hair - quite distinguished, actually! Lol). He also lucked out with one of his nurses - she was very young, but very, very good. She pressed down in just the right places, and even managed to push out the air that had been bothering him something awful for the past week. And just as with you, they got virtually all of the fluid out this time!
This was actually the first time they used the U/S during the procedure. Usually, he has two scheduled appts. on the day of the paracentesis - one for the U/S, then 30-60 mins later, the procedure. They'll take pictures with the U/S, and then have them up on the screen to refer to during the paracentesis.
Hope you are feeling good, breathing easily, and resting!
Have a peaceful day.......
p.s. Just noticed your last post! 14 liters - WOW! Her belly must have been HUGE and she had to have been totally miserable and in PAIN!
