Latest news on Sofosbuvir and Simeprevir.......

Hey everyone! The following is a site that has the latest info on HepC research, new drugs, etc.. It has a lot of great information. I signed up for automatic updates that are sent to my email. Over the past two days, the FDA Antiviral Drugs Advisory Committee gave their support for approval for both Sofosbuvir and Simeprevir.

(The FDA is scheduled to decide whether to approve Sofosbuvir by Dec. 8 and Simeprevir by Nov. 27. Even though the FDA does not HAVE to abide by the Advisory Committee's decision, they usually do.)

Toes, fingers, ears crossed and praying constantly that Mike can get into this program.

Lord only knows when Insurance companies will pony up for a NEW drug regimen...a study is his best bet.

He is very tired again...but his blood work looks great. Low AST/ALT. Platelets normal range. Some funny kidney numbers and low blood counts, but that's not new. His MELD was 4 when I calculated it this past week. Hopefully he isn't too well for their study. His HCV count was over 6 million.

So...good and bad.
