Lou Reed has just passed away. They haven't concluded what caused his death yet.

He was recovering from a recent liver transplant. Anything could have caused his demise, first on the list being infection. Sad news.

The article that linked to his transplant story said that the cause of death had not been determined.

His literary agent did not say it was directly caused by the liver but did say his transplant was part of the cause. I assume he probably got ill. I guess we will fond out on time.

Yep that is what they are reporting in Australia.. that it was complications post transplant.

Not surprisingly, he contracted the disease hepatitis through sharing needles.

That article may be true but I for one think Mr. Reed deserved more respect than what the "journalist" wrote. Sad when people have to focus on the negatives, Obviously the man cleaned up his life. We all make mistakes and take wrong paths in life. I'd hate to think we all had to wear a shirt with the list of less than pleasing acts we've done to our death. A wise man once said to a crowd at a stoning "He who is without sin, Cast the first stone". Hmmmm..........

Yes, the journalist WAS tough on him, maybe he lives in a glass house, you never know. Anyway, I took out the link, just posted the paragraph to show that he did indeed have hepatitis, according to the BBC article.

I'm not surprised at what might be written about Lou. He was very rough with journalists and many were scared to interview him.
