Husband with Hep C: Alphafetoprotein elevated

Hello all,
I posted on here a couple months ago regarding my husband. He has Hep C and had an MRI/MRCP in November showing suspicious spots. He has had Hep C for approximately 20 years. He had a followup MRI a couple weeks ago and it had not really changed but hi APP went up from 86 to 341. His doctor is concerned and is sending him to Montefiore medicAl center in New York City, now the closest place from us for the problem he has. He will be seeing Dr Kinkhabwala and Dr. Reminds. I am concerned about this. Can somebody talk to me about this. Should I be concerned?

I don't know anyting about the APP .. I'm sure someone will come along and help you out. I remember when you posted JB.

I have a high AFP 367 on Jan 2 2014. My AFP started at 79 two years ago. My doctor had an CT done in November 2013 and an MRI in December 2013. It turn out to be a tumor that is getting bigger. At first is was 1.5 cm, now it is 2.1 cm. He has recommended that I get radiation treatment to kill the tumor or make it smaller before it get bigger than 5 cm. Oh I have Hep C to. Ron
