Not so flat stomach

I've always had a very flat stomach from decades of being a competitive gym rat. With the PHT and ascites/edema, things really changed of course and they pulled 13 liters of water out at one point. The diuretics have things very well controlled now and only a trace of ascites fluid remains as seen in the MRI's in a perihepatic distribution. I know I'm being petty but I always have a little stomach pouch/bloating on the very lower part of my abdominal area even with the successful control of the tense ascites. I keep meaning to ask my hep about it but it slips my mind with the other things that are more important of course. Lol, we with ESLD are still allowed to be a little vain aren't we? Anyone else experience this?

Enlarged liver?

Mike is post TP so that is likely different. He had had a serious surgery with cut muscles across his abdomen and we figure he will never be the same. It was huge when he had his incisional hernia after TP, but taht is healed up too and there is mesh in there so he should be fine. BUT, he still is big expecially on the right side over his liver. I always joke with him and tell him is got a 300 lb guy's liver and it is bigger than the space inside!

Being alive is the important part to us just now.

This is belly button low. Suppose it could just be the residual scarring effects of the kidney cancer fun. We all seem to have our battle wounds for sure.

Sound like a big, new liver ... hopefully comes with extra bonus points being so large!

I have the same thing, my stomach has always been fairly flat, but recently my stomach is bigger than it used to be and especially at night it gets worse and feel bloated. I don't know what causes this.

You have Hep C. A bloated stomach, or fluid accumulation are part of having the virus.

I have AIH with ascites. I've lost my girlish waistline. I am not happy about it, but like others said, being alive and functioning fairly well is enough to be thankful for.
