Hi Hep 97. Mike is the skin issue king...he has had lot of problems over time. I don't know what to suggest if you are already burned but would call your hepatologist who has prescribed the meds. Asking the drug company is good also..they have specialists who will want to document your reaction and offer remedy. Your insurance company nurse line may want to help also if you don't get anywhere with the others.
Mike bought Columbia shirts that are UV rated from several sources...Bass Pro Shops (stores and online), from Columbia outlet stores, and from a discounter in our area. They are long sleeved fishing shirts, pretty colors. He wears one over whatever he is wearing like a jacket every single day. He found that some of the Greg Norman golf clothing is UV rated as of this year...it is on the label. Maybe other golf clothes also. As a golfer he has to be careful.
He also bought some light weight UV fishing gloves...they have no finger tips, but he was getting burned int the car while driving. He wears a brimmed hat all the time as has has some mess going on in his scalp also.
He creams up with a high UV rated cream every day right in the shower, even with the protective clothing. We live in Florida and he won't even scamper to the mailbox without his shirt and hat. We had the car windows tinted to the extent allowed by law...so we don't look like drug dealers...but we do get extra protection...this is the Sunshine state. He is careful to park his golf cart in the shade. His creamed up legs ARE exposed for a few minutes while he takes his shot. Maybe he should wear slacks like the pros!
We only go to the beach or pool late in the afternoon or early evening.
Good luck. If you find a good remedy, come back and post...it is helpful for others! We have a lot of Lurkers who check us out, don't post, but learn a lot.
Hugs,
Mama Lama
