Does anyone know why Hervoni wasn't approved for geno type 2 or if it will be in the near future ? it sounds like it's easier and less expensive than the solvaldi /ribivirin and less sides ...

FDA Status: On October 10, 2014, the fixed-dose combination ledipasvir-sofosbuvir (Harvoni) was approved by the FDA for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 infection in adults. Insufficient data exist to recommend the use ledipasvir-sofosbuvir in genotypes other than genotype 1. Although ledipasvir-sofosbuvir is not specifically FDA-approved for HIV-infected patients, it will likely generate significant interest for use in this arena.

I am on the Sovaldi and Ribavirin, Pegetron and would have loved to be on the Hervoni, I am on wk 4 so far so good!

thanks for your response, it would be great if a one pill combo could be accessible to the g2's in the near future, I'm just apprehensive about taking Ribivirin, but mostly hearing S.E are tolerable in a 12 week period..Good luck on your road to being virus free and continued good health..
