12 week treatment done!

The feeling of success after treatment is so great I started crying when I was told my labs came back with less then 5 copies at 4 weeks. My 3 month and 6 month check were also negative. Congratulations! I know how you are feeling.

I completed my treatment in May of 2014 with the same course of drugs. I hope your recovery for the drugs is swift. I was told the Sovaldi takes 24 hours to clear, the Pegasys up to 29 days and the Ribavirin up to 6 months. I felt great for about 3 week after the last day of treatment and then I had issues. I when three days with no sleep, I had depression start up and had to take something for it briefly. I had four infection follow, Iritis (white blood cells attack my iris and was painful) the eye doctor said they normally see this with an abscess tooth. She said she did not believe it had to do with meds. I say my dentist and was told my gums were inflamed but they could not find an abscess tooth but said it may be a root canal I had many years ago. They wanted drill thru the cap and treat it for six week but I elected to wait and was treated with antibiotics and gingivitis. Then I developed a UTI a called my PC who provided a scrip for an antibiotic. A few weeks later I got an URI and had to take more antibiotics. I had a free light chain test and it showed my IGA level was low. This is the mucous system that fights infection. It includes eyes, month, lungs, digestive and urinary tract. The doctor said nothing about it. I only know this because I for asking for labs results and I did my own research. I believe it may be the results of the meds. All these infections went away and it has been 8 months now and the only issue left is muscle weakness and some muscle pain. I lost 14 pounds in the three months and have put 9 pounds back on. I take ibuprofen occasionally as I now watch what goes through my liver. I only mention these things so your prepared for them if they even happen. Everyone is effected differently. Keep your chin up and a smile on you face, the worse part (the treatment) is over. May all your test going forward be negative.

Interferon and RIBA causes suppression of the bone marrow. It will decrease your white blood cells, red cells(hemoglobin), and platelets. Riba will suppress the red cells, causing temporary anemia. As gift said" it can take a few months for your cbc to return to normal. My hepatologist told me that interferon is known to be healing to the liver. She said" we don't know about sovaldi". I never heard this one, but she is a transplant surgeon.
