Welcome to the Hep forum willowman.
Harvoni has few side effects, especially compared to the old treatment...interferon/riba. Hep C is now a curable disease!
One side that some have reported here, and that is not mentioned in the literature, constipation.
You don't want to take St. Johns Wort.
If you take an antacid during treatment with Harvoni, take the antacid 4 hours before or 4 hours after you take Harvoni.
Since you have Hep C, you don't want to wait and wind up with cirrhosis. My husband, themister, is on the transplant list . He treated twice with interferon/riba, did obtain SVR, but already had cirrhosis and the damage was done. We are both more excited about
the new treatments than I can express. Harvoni only takes a few weeks and you move on with your life, virus free.
Here is the Gilead info for you.
