Hi Everyone,
It has been quite some time since I have posted.
Dougie is doing very well. He had a six month GI check and labs yesterday. Everything is in normal range. There were even some improvements to his PT INR this go around. Ultra sound and endoscopy in the next few weeks. He is attending AA meetings. He is working two PT jobs and enjoying his semi retirement.
I have been having a rough time this year. February and March I had breast biopsy and surgery. No cancer thank God, but had bleeding milk ducts and it was quite scary until the results came in. Summer and fall saw a difficult time at work, with three people quitting. Needing to interview, hire, and now training new employees. I worked every weekend June through mid October. All of that has been very stressful. And I have been self medicating with food. All that weight I lost two years ago is back, ugh. I had a good colonoscopy at the end of October, but that triggered a bout of diverticulitis and I ended up in the ER for that, then a cold which turned into an awful episode of bronchitis, and then one of those horrible vertigo episodes. I have seen the neurologist, who sent me to the ENT, had a brain MRI, hearing tests, (both normal) changed medications. No definitive dx on why I get the vertigo. The attacks are fairly infrequent (2 a year maybe, but have gone as long as 18 months without one). All that was from end of October to mid December.
Dougie and I are doing well together, and our family is doing well too. Youngest son moved home from cross country in September. Hopefully he will find full time employment that will enable him to support himself. He is currently doing an internship now.
I am looking forward to 2016. My goal is to find better balance between self care, home, and work.
I can't believe that it has been over 5 years since Dougie was dx with cirrhosis. He has had some slips and falls. But so far he has been able to recover from those. I am so grateful.
I am also so thankful for everyone on this forum. Each of you has helped me in so many ways, support, advice, sharing experience and knowledge. Thank you all so much.
Wishing everyone a happy new year filled with joy and good health.
Big Hugs,
Emma
