Hi I'm an IT in an online store that offers canine cooler (which is a cooling bed for dogs and perfect for summertime) I have a question regarding Hepatitis, I am a genetic carrier of hepatitis B that comes from my grandmother passed to my mother and my uncle (her brother). I'm just wondering why my cousins (children of my uncle) didn't inherit Hepatitis B?

Hi Benjiex,
If your uncle was a healthy carrier.. meaning he is positive for hep b, but is not likely to pass the virus..your uncle may not have infected the mother of your cousins. It’s passed by the mother.

Today, babies from carrier mothers are given anti hep b injection right after birth, followed by an injection of hbig. This could protect the child.
