Hi Connie, Thanks for asking. The doctor was very positive, he told me that they are seeing very good results now between 3 and 6 months. So maybe I will not have to be on this stuff as long as I thought. Home health will pick up the medicine and come out , he said it should be one day next week, but I have not heard from them yet. They are supposed to instruct me in the administartion of the meds and after that I will get med in from UPS.
My doctor was not at all concerned that my viral load was as high as it was, but from talking with other people, I was freaking out.
Well, still very nervous but trying to keep a "positive" attitude.

That's really good news, Flopsie. I like the part about
the med being delivered. I had to pick it up at my doctor's office, but they gave me one month at a time. I had to take it 3 times a week. I injected in my thighs--bruised something awful and was a nonresponder. I think you are going to do just great, so stay positive!

Flopsie, the untreated hep C caused primary liver cancer--a huge tumor that metastasized to the inferior vena cava. This was diagnosed a year ago in April '05. I had chemoembolization in March '06 and it killed 90% of the tumor. I then had TheraSphere--a targeted radiation treatment done internally. I will find out in several weeks the results of that. However, I still face removal of the entire right lobe of the liver, followed by hep C treatment with the newer drugs. When I first was treated, there was only Interferon, and they did not test for viral loads. I was having blood work done every 6 months, and a sonogram once a year.
Hugs,
Connie
