HepC testing

After being in contact from someone elses blood I was tested 16 weeks later for HepC and HIV. The doctor didn't seem to concerned to test me again. I did have slightly elivated liver enzimes, rash, etc. and was quite sick for a while all had since cleared up and gone away. Doc figured it was just a transient virus. Does anyone know how determinate this test is after 16 weeks? It was an atibody test.

Hello jay,
I would ask that more tests be done for the hepc,,I dont know about HIV,but with the hepc test,,I think it can take a while for the body to build up antibodies that the test will pick up,,,everyones body is different. If your not comfortable with the decision your dr made ,consider a second opinion,or a third if necessary. Good luck on your results!
