my husband has started Baraclude

Rick has been started on Baraclude to treat his hep b,,,I am so happy he changed GI drs,,,,,this one told us with the initial consultation that he didnt know alot about hep b(honesty is a big PLUS with me) but that he was willing to do the research to help Rick,,,,,,when we returned Tues to see him,he had his stuff together,,,,,,BIG time,,,,even knew what would be covered under medicaid,,,,he listened to us about the effects of interferon,with Ricks other medical conditions,and agrees that is NOT the best road for Rick,,,,,Baraclude is the newest treatment out and has a very small percentage of ppl have side affects,,,,,,,what a relief just to know he actually listened,and was in NO big hurry to get out of the office with us,,,,sat down like hed known us for years,,anyone else out there have any experiences with Baraclude for treating hep b? hope everyone is doing well ,take care :hugs:

Hi Trish,
That's good news. Both the new treatment and the new GI. Hope the treatment suits Rick. You deserve some more sunshine. Hope the new grand daughter is doing well also. I'm having the family for dinner tonight. (Both sons, their wives, and of course the granddaughter).

thanks marg:) yes my granddaughter is doing well,,,God knew me and rick needed grandchildren to brighten our lives,what a blessing they are! sometimes when im really down and crying( yes i do that alot at times lol) i think about what a wonderful Christmas we will have with 4 children,3 of their mates,and 3 young ones,,,,good thing we have a larger house now and two tables to eat at :) we will have a house full of love,what else is there to hope for ?? have a great day marg:)

oh and to add something else,,,i have started shooting pool on league again,only one night a week though(before rick,i was playing 5 nights a week,and in 2 tourneys a week) ,,,,i had to do some soul searching,as its hard to leave sometimes when rick is really bad,,,,but i told him i have to take care of myself,or i wont be good for him,,,,,,this wed night,i went to play and,ran into a very old friend of mine,,,,he is the best musician ive ever met,and cant read one bit of music,,,had a fiddle put in his hands before he could walk,,,,i had told him once,i wanted him to play at my funeral,,,he came up to me,hugged me and said,,,how can i play at your funeral when i dont see you for 10 yrs??? he now has our number and im sure will stay in touch,,,he had tears in his eyes he was so happy to run into me,,,,,so im glad i made the decision to get out in the real world some,,,,,,

Hi Trish, I reaaly don't know much about the baraclude, except what I read on the internet. It does sound as though it could be easier on his system. I am glad you found a different hepatologist, sounds like he wants to do what he can for his patients. Also glad to hear you are getting out to do your favorite thing. You and Marg have truly been blessed having the new baby girls around!

Hi trish and teresa.

So glad you have been able to get out and play pool again Trish. you need to do something for yourself. And what a Christmas you will have. Leila will not be old enough to really appreciate christmas but hse sure brings a smile to my face every time I see her. She is just starting to smile and trying desperately to make sounds.

I'm back to school tomororw. The holiday time goes so quickly.

Next weekend we are travelling to Melbourne for my nieces wedding. Amost all my family will be there which will be a lovely reunion.
