After Treatment

I just finished 48 months of interferon and ribovarin this past Feb. The pharm company doing the study dropped the ball and don't have viral counts since last January. My last check up was about 2 weeks ago. By the looks of my liver enzymes it may be back. What can I expect now? What should I do now?

I'd appreciate any input or suggestions.

Hi Lou, I just saw that no one posted a response to you. I will help anyway I can,so here goes,,,,,,first of all, do you have hep b or c? You were in a study not seeing a regular GI or hepatologist of your own?? If not,thats my first piece of advice, GET YOUR OWN DR! Though studies help the medical profession to learn, you need someone standing in your corner,looking out after YOU through this. If you have hep b, there are other treatments, such as Baraclude(which has reduced my husbands viral count substantially). Also, I dont believe there is any reason for a dr not to put you back on the treatment, if it in fact lowered your viral count the first time. good luck
