mild liver enlargement: teeh marks on tongue

Could any of you please reply to this post.

Couple of weeks back, I started getting teethmarks on my tongue.It looks like small curves on the lateral sides of my tongue.I was scared thinking it was an HIV symptom.My PCP told me its because of virus and put me on valtrex for 1 day.They did not go away.Then I visited an ENT specialist .She told me that those are teeth marks on my tongue(scallop tongue) and said i dont need any medication.

But when i read on the internet about teethmarks on tongue, its says that it is due to liver/spleen disorder.A month ago,ultrasonic scanning of my abdomen showed mild liver enlargement.

Can u tell me whats happening with me?Is this serious(teeth marks on tongue)

Hello John, I have not heard of teethmarks on the tongue. But if your test showed mild liver inlargement you should have a complete blood work done to see if there is any problem going on with your liver. Better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck Pink Grandma

John, as part of the blood work, you might want to request testing for hepatitis B and C.

John just read your post weeks after you posted it. I also have the same thing going on with my tongue. My liver is also enlarged from treatment for Babesia. No ome ever said anything about it, but I thought it was odd. It has been this way for a few years now, since I got the infedction, I never put 2 and 2 together. No dentist or doctor ever said anything about it when I shoed it to them. Have you gotten any answers since then? Laura

Hi Minerals

Regarding my toothmarks on tongue...i did not get any answer since then..

Regarding my liver:

Hepatatis A positive(past infection),B,C negative.

Ultrasonic abdomen scanning showed fatty liver.

My ALT is around 96.

Gastroenterologist advised me to watch for diet and exercise.

I showed my teethmarks to a dentist,ENT and oral specialist...None could tell the reason for it and showed no concern.

I read on the internet, it said it could be due to liver problems

Also please let me know if u hear some thing abt it

well

I also have from time to time this symptom it comes with aphthas.

it goes after 10 days.

usualy after that I have a cold.

it look like it is a reaction of the budy to the virus.

I'm sorry minerals,  I meant that you haven't been posting on this forum (meaning the Hepatitis forum.  You've been posting on Lyme.   Didn't realize that you still hung out here.  Welcome back.      :-)

I think this can be helped by taking Vit B3 supplements. At least that is what I am going to try.

@2999john did you solve your problems? I have the same thing. tested for almost everything with no results.

did you tested for HIV as well?
