Milk thistle might be a good thing for you to start taking, as far as "natural" treatment goes. There are people who have actually cleared the virus that way. Talk to health food store personnel about its use for hep C, in terms of dosage. It is higher than that stated on the label. You could ask about other supplements that might be of benefit, as well. Or look on the Internet for recommended milk thistle dosages and other natural treatments. Drink distilled water and avoid carbonated beverages, alcohol , and iron supplements. Also, steer clear of beef (no pun intended ), lamb, pork, liver and other organ meats, and foods with nitrates such as hot dogs and packaged lunch meats. Avoid caffeine and drink green tea. The idea is to preserve as much liver function as possible by eliminating things from your diet that are a strain for your liver to metabolize.
That being said, I do believe you also need medical treatment and monitoring. Do you have a teaching hospital near you? If so, you may be able to be seen and receive the combo treatment at little or no cost. You could also check for clinical trials in your area. Are you working, or are you able to work? Insurance through employers usually offers good coverage. Unless you have been declared disabled or have a minor child in the home, Medicaid can be extremely difficult to get. However, it costs you nothing to apply.
Good luck!
