Hi Sarita- I had to respond when I saw that drug. My aunt was on it and to this day, it was the best drug she was ever on. A quick overview of her illness- she has had the big D ongoing for many years and was diagnosed with colitis (undifferentiated?). For years, she struggled and had so much D (not trying to scare you here) that they removed some of her lower intestine because in the MD's words, "it's rotted out". Anyway, that was a short term fix before everything came roaring back. She constantly struggles with D and bad stomach pain and cramping. She is extremely thin secondary to either being unable to eat or just plain afraid to do so. Anyway, she has been diagnosed and undiagnosed (sound familiar? lol) multiple times- colitis, IBS, crohns-colitis, back to 'just regular' colitis back to IBS. She has been to many MD's and even to the very well known clinic in Ohio (name is escaping me) that specializes in bowel disorders. Well, anyhow, Lotronex was her one and only and really when she was on it, she was in a better frame of mind. However, sadly due to the mentioned issue with it, she was taken off and now the MD will not re-presribe it. :( At this point, she is now 64 and just too worn out from these years to fight w/anyone about
it. But, I hope and pray you'll find some relief w/this. She certainly did and she misses the drug every day!! good luck!!
