Are you SICK of cleaning your toilet?

Ironically gut - I'm not! And I'm THE preferred family member for any messy job too. Everytime they stop up the toilet, guess who has to unclog it. Even on vacations! They think - hey she deals with cr** all the time, let's stick her with this job! We have a Golden who eventually had her anal glands removed (she would lick her rearend so often, her breath smelled worse than when I'd empty my temporary ostomy bag way back when!). I used to have the fun job of cleaning her up too! Funny how some things bother some of us and then others just don't mind.

Marsky, I still absolutely go cold and shudder every time I think about you and that dog of yours.  I remember reading that story and I am pretty certain I had nightmares that night.

Doesn't matter how much poop I see, clean, or smell (mine or the kitties); it still makes me want to retch!

Sarita, I think about you a lot when I am watching my favorite show, Scrubs (which, IMO, is the best show on TV for IBS sufferer's to watch because they are always talking about poo).  Are you prepared for the copious amounts of digestive by-product that you will have to deal with as a doctor?????  Agh....

gut - the dog's fine now, but I felt just tricked into that surgery! The vet kept saying she'd feel better and she did, but weeks later! I gave her so many hugs post-op, lots of attention, never skipped her meds and fed her out of hand, because it hurt for her to bend over. I would sigh and say - oh I've failed you! But now, she's fine and she's not annoyed by impacted anal glands. So in the end, the vet was correct. They had to come out. Later he told me it's the most painful part of the body (on a dog). I just stared at him as if to say - and don't I know it!

She's actually my bathroom buddy too - along with the magazines. I have hand lotion in there and all sorts of comfort items.

But a TV would be sweet!

I did take one in there once for one of my bowel preps. Must have been a network TV show I wanted to see.....LOL

I keep a brush and those Lysol wipes handy and just clean it every time. I've always hated the job, but it's easier for me to clean when it's only a little dirty than when it gets really gross. And heaven knows no one else is going to clean it!

I agree.  I find if I just lift the lid after every visit, it's much easier to manage than waiting until I KNOW it's time.  Besides, you never know when an unexpected guest may show up.

Interestingly, at my last job, I noticed how many people left the toilets really filthy.  It was NOT my job to clean them, but as someone who is used to bowel problems, I was always COMPELLED to do a quick brush down - maybe because I didn't want to inadvertently get blamed!  But this little observation made me realize how many people have gut problems.  After all, "normal" people don't leave so much messy evidence behind after doing their business!
