I have been having periodic attacks of extreme pain on the right side at my waist. It feels like a build up of gas but literally when having cannot stand up straight. It usually is preceeded by lots of gas. After the pain wears off for the next couple of days the area is sore. I have had several tests including a colonoscopy which was normal but would love to know if anyone else has experienced this and what they took to prevent. My MD said maybe you are lactose intolerent or have allergies to gluten. I'm confused.

Did anyone do a hida scan to check you gall bladder? That should always be done when you have right-side pain. Funny enough, when my gall bladder went bad, I had gas problems. Namely trapped gas--couldn't poot at all and hardly ever bleched. It was miserable. I don't have that problem since it came out, so somehow, in some mysterious way, it was causing my gas to get trapped.

Thanks, had my gall bladder removed many years ago.

Sounds like gas indeed...kind of like a side-stitch type pain that athletes experience when they are exercising, etc. Have you tried an over-the-counter gas reliever, like Gas-X (simethicone)?
