pain in right side???

Hey everyone,

Yesterday I had a colonoscopy and all went well. This morning I woke up in pain in my right side. From my lower right side all the way up to under my ribcage and breast bone. Is this normal? What could it be? I called my GI at 8:00 this morning and then again a couple hours later and they have not called me back yet. I am worried cause it really hurts. Any suggestions as to why I am hurting on my right side?

Hi poco,
Were you able to get a hold of your GI to inquire about your post scope pain?
My initial thought would be gas and bloating. When you get scoped they blow a lot of air in there to help them see better. Most of the time we become extremely flatulent, other times the air gets trapped and we hurt.
How are you feeling now?

Hey everyone,

The last I heard while I am here in the hospital is that Monday they are going to take out my gall bladder and appendix. so hopefully no more pain after that.
