I'm sorry, Alyssa, I know it's frustrating. I'm going to be a physician (am in my second year of medical school) and having a chronic illness makes the whole process of becoming a doc very frustrating. Sometimes I just want to quit medicine altogether because I am so overwhelmed by the problems in medicine.
BUT once in a while I will get a glimmer of hope, that many, many doctors DO want to help you, and will go out on a limb for you. Those are the doctors who think outside the box. Most doctors, by the time they start practicing medicine, are just burned out and jaded and depressed (I feel like that already and I'm not even practicing yet). But not all of them are like that. Have hope...you WILL get through this. Even though I know how empty those words can seem sometime, they are true.
