Is it my gallbladder or am I just plain crazy

Boy oh boy, what a year.

I have been suffering intensely with stomache pain since Dec 2007. I have been in and out of the ER with severe pain, now radiating into my shoulder blades and entire right shoulder/back. I can only cry from the pain.

In the past year I have had 2 colonoscopies, 2 endoscopies, 2 ultrasounds, 2 CT scans, blood work, a barium enema and several X Rays. Everyone tells me everything is completely normal.

I can only go to the bathroom with an enema twice a week. My stool is hard like bricks, I am in pain.

I have missed days of university and teachers college at a time because of the pain.

My GI doctors and GP are not coordinating. The paperwork never seems to reach the doctors it needs to.

Everyone tells me I am not an urgent/emergency case.

How do I get someone to listen to me?

I have a HIDA Scan Dec 22 and a CT scan Dec 29.

My anorectal mamatry test is March 9 and the followup with that GI won't happen unless the test results warrant one.

When the doctors cannot find an answer, they thinks its my bipolar and ask me if I am stressed or if anything is bothering me because it will make my pain tolerance worse.

Well, I was 6 months premature, have had several surgeries, my pain tolerance is pretty good.....

bp, for what it matters your not nuts. I had a problem where my IBS was acting up big time for weeks. Not that uncommon but I couldn't even eat. This was before I learned how to deal since my guts were in the process of shifting from full D to "surprise me" mode. When I mentioned the pain the first thing out of this doc's mouth was "Are you depressed? Because sometimes depression can cause this kind of pain." I wanted to smack him. I wanted to scream "Of course I'm depressed you idiot. I've been in severe pain for two weeks, my meds stopped working and all I have to do is eat a piece of toast and I have raging D for 2 hours." But I held my tongue and said no I've been just fine other then the fact that I'm having a severe flare up. I don't know how to get the doctors to listen. I have one that does but her hands are kind of tied as to what she can do because she's my primary care. Specialists look at me like"You have a diagnosis, why are you here?".

Next time I see my primary care I'm going to remind her of something and see if that opens any new doors.

Good luck with your hidascan tomorrow! Please let us know how it goes. If it comes out normal, don't let the doc shrug you off like a mental case. Ask for a second opinion.

Dry, hard stool, can certainly cause all sorts of pain issues. They can "scour" the intestinal walls and cause direct pain that can eminate from there. Indirectly, if you are not passing your waste timely, than toxins and other waste, which would be eliminated through a BM, end up being reabsorbed in to the body and can lodge themselves anywhere (joints are a common collector).

If your using enimas twice a week, it is obvious your digestive system needs attention.

For myself (I have had chronic constipation for decades), eating more warm, soup or stew-type meals and increasing my healthy oils has helped to move things better (I eat 7-10 tablespoons of mostly sesame oil, but also, olive oil, cod liver, flaxseed oil, daily). I had to go through a healing process to be able to increase fiber in my diet and even then only certain types. Increase your water, but no colder than room temperature (warm is even better). In fact avoiding cold foods overall is a good idea, until you BM is more natural.

Interestingly these very things will minimize the manic side of bi-polar, so you could possibly see a wider ranging benefit.
