For a lot us there are triggers with our IBS...certain foods, stress, depression... mine is the startle effect

I was parking my car on a hill, thought I had gone too far foword, scared myself....then calmed right down, saw I was fine , parked...three days later my stomach was an acid volcano, my colon squeezed tighter than a python squeezing its prey.... the trigger had been pulled when I was parking, even though nothing happened and I was completely fine after the trigger was pulled... I still paid for it...I passed out on the toilet, waking up staring at the base of the toilet.....,.saw the doctor..strain vaso vagil (sp) nerve in butt, pass right out..

two days later I'm as fine as I usually am...at least it doesn't last long

Wow, I'm trying to understand what you are saying and shocked that this could be brought on by a physical position you had been sitting in. But do I believe it? OH YES I DO! Each time I drive, I have to unzip my pants, sip water, eat a few Club Crackers and pop Gavisgon pills. And belch. LOL But this sitting position definitely kinks something up inside. I can't slouch, otherwise I wouldn't be able to see to drive. And it hurts my back to slouch a little. So I have to sit upright and let the kinking begin. And the belching. What fun - not.

But did you also twist when parking (I'm assuming you meant parallel parking)? Looking back each time so you could park as close to the curb without hitting the other cars.....just picturing the position you were in. I'm sure you gave your gut a real workout.

On the bright side, you said it doesn't last long so that's a relief. But what a scare.....

It was not the way I was sitting in the car, its what I THOUGHT happened, that I had gone too far forword in parking, I was pulling into space going straight ahead....just being startled can pull the trigger on me

last month while driving, my steering wheel dropped down...in my car you can raise and lower the steering wheel for comfort,,, it just dropped down while I was taking a turn, did not know what was happening, startled!!!,,,drove some more, realized what happened, and got it fixed the next day for 20$...trigger still pulled. It takes about 2 to 3 days to strike

the passing out was on the toilet when I was straining too hard, when I should have been waiting for the attack of the IBS to run its course.......when its attacking and my stomach is exploding, I drink chamomille tea with peppermint and take tagament and sleep....
