Hello everyone. I found this site doing research for possible ideas for getting my oxycodone 30mg prescript
ion filled this month and came across the list of topics. I also suffer with irritable bowel syndrome which can be triggered by something as simple as someone just getting on your nerves and i have also suffered with the most severe bouts of constipation which i experienced during my chemotherapy treatments; along with the combination of pain medications. As stated by everyone else, the worst part of having the colonoscopy is the prep and possibly waking up to realize that "
YES" it was you who made that extremely loud noise while passing gas. :o) The best part is that when they put you under, it is some of the best sleep you can possibly have and you don't remember a thing afterwards. If I may, I'd like to share my experience and things that helped me along the way. Since having chemo, my veins have all pretty much hardened and/or collapsed so if you have a the same problem with them finding a useful vein and especially without pain...ask if they can maybe use your hand or wrist, but numb them both in order to avoid the pain while trying to get the IV to take. To "
THISTUESDAY" I'd like to share my past experience with you especially. For the severe constipation, in less than a day I would take AND drink several laxatives, use various enimas (4-5 in a day), use olive oil in the rectum, among other desparate ideas and nothing worked. Each time I had to go to the emergency room and be admitted into the hospital which I was told was the best thing to do and IT WAS.
They would instantly give me something for the pain, then set me up with the HUGE enima bag (filled with warm water and hung from the top of your IV tower) which sometimes worked right away, but sometimes did not and finally they put me on Miralax; which is now offered over the counter without a prescript
ion. It is a white powder that goes into your drink and trust me when I say it is absolutely
TASTELESS & ODORLESS and you can put it in anything you choose to drink whether it be hot or cold. It disolves very fast and I prefered to put it in my hot coffee or hot tea. What it does is coats your intestines so once it starts working, you will notice that your bowels start moving
without the abdominal cramping and you will notice the stool water has oil droplets in it. No worries, that is proof that it's working and aside from my bouts with the IBS I can happily say that four years later I still continue to take an arsenal of heavy duty medications and since using the Miralax have not had constipation since 2005. Initially I was taking it everyday and after the first week or so the doctor decreased the amount from every other day until eventually I did not need it anymore. I have had six hospital stays, from coma to blood clots in my lungs and five of them also mainly focused on the severe constipation caused by the chemo so please feel free to ask if there is anything else I can possible offer advise on. Whatever you do, speak up to your doctors and medical staff because only you know what your
body is experiencing and they can only guess about
what may or may not be helping you if you don't offer any input in your treatment. You are the most important part of your medical team taking care of you and making you better.
