It took about
5 weeks but I did see improvement. The hardest part for me was cutting out the foods I could no longer have.
My allergies are: beef, pork, poultry, most fish, peanuts, orange, corn, kiwi, and eggs. I am also sensitive to gluten. Talk about
a radical diet change. I basically went from a meat & potatoes kinda girl to a vegetarian.
My #1 piece of advice is no matter how much you crave the things you can't have DON'T DO IT! I've fallen off the wagon a couple times - those darn KFC commercials get me every time and I've paid for it dearly. Once you've finally gotten improvement it's really easy to think just one bite of the bad stuff won't hurt me.
You also have to be very diligent about
your food prep. Example: if we go out for breakfast I have to ask that my pancakes be cooked away from the meats because even the grease residue will make me very sick.
Hope this helps.
PS - Wanted to let you know that I when I went to my allergist I had my results the same day (the prick part). The blood test was just a triple check and those results came in the next day.
