Long long time since anyone posted, but thought I would share my story incase it helps anyone.
I have been diagnosed with dumping syndrome but am apparently very unusual in the fact I have not had any stomach or other causative surgery. I have both rapid and delayed. The rapid being the worst which includes shaking, sweating, nausea, cramping and explosive diarrhoea.
My life totally changed after I got diagnosed.......after 24 years of it I am now in control. My gastroenterologist had me work with a dietician and the plan is simple. Include protein with every meal and DONT eat and drink at the same time. I MUST leave 30 minutes clear after drinking before I eat and 30 minutes clear after I stop eating before I drink. I was also advised to lay down, if possible, for 20 mins after dinner. Following this I have zero episodes now......big change from 5-7 a day! The 30 minute rule is the main thing that helps. Watch out for food which is inbetween like soup, yogurt etc and treat ice cream as a liquid.
