I am new and really do not know where I am suppose to go. I have so many "issues" to deal with, but I had wanted to know IF people
with IBS have fistulas? I don't know if I have Celiac D. or not, as when the Dr was suppose to take a biopsy when I had major intestinal
surgery years ago, he FORGOT to do it. My sister had Celiac symptoms too, so I believe I do have it and IBS for sure. All my girls have
IBS really bad.
But about 1- 1 1/2 yrs ago I had a "bout" of severe bleeding from my rectum. The Dr treated me, gave me some meds to help the bleeding to stop and sent me home. I thought maybe I had a hemorrhoid rupture or something. Then some time ago I began to bleed again. I discovered what I thought were hemorrhoids were actually abscesses. What happened next was a "hole" opened up next to my rectum. The bleeding finally stopped but the hole stayed.
I then got on the NET and searched to find out what had happened to me. I read about fistulas and I had all the symptoms, plus the abscesses and fissures they mentioned. I live in the Alaska bush and having surgery and treatment is not easy. I have to drive 100 miles one way just to buy groceries. So surgery and having someone follow up with changing dressings, etc. is not an option.
I take alternative treatments for my other health issues, Diabetes, Lymes Disease, CFIDS, Allergies/Asthma, Bipolar, Depression, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Psoriasis, Lupus, and numerous other issues, so I was looking for something to help my fistulas. I did not
see much anywhere to help with this issue. I was wondering HOW I could go to a Dr, have tests, have surgery, have someone come in to help me recover and take care of me during that time, and help me with taking care of my family. It was getting scary trying to figure out what to do and how to do it so far from town. Anchorage is 140mi away where I would have surgery. Closest town to have a nurse to follow up to help me recover is 100 mi one way. (The joys of living isolated and in the BUSH)
I started on a product for my Diabetes and many of the issues mentioned above. I had seen it listed it would help with fistulas and fissues, but I did not really believe it, as I had not had any positive results with the other products I had been taking, even tho they were helping my other health issues.
I have been on this product for over 3 mo and recently discovered that my fistula is almost completely gone, and my fissures and abscesses are almost gone too. I was shocked. My Diabetes, the main reason I was taking this product, is some what better, but I have not gotten the results I wanted. BUT my Diabetes is Brittle Diabetes and is so sensitive, IF there is ANY thing going on in my body, good or bad (healing crisis) it will raise my blood sugars. So I have to say, MAYBE the healing of these is also stressing out my body. I also watched a video talking about Diabetes III which is triggered by EMFs. I am SURE I have that problem, as my Diabetes really got out of control about 1 1/2 yrs ago when they put in a new cell phone tower up the road from me. Also I live about 50 mi from HAARP which is the "mother of all EMFs".
So I did want to tell about my healing with my fistula, fissures and abscesses. I don't know why that first Dr did not tell me my bleeding problem from my rectum was an abscess that had ruptured. I don't think I had any fistula form at that time, but did later when one did rupture and formed the fistula next to my rectum.
I have had such a hard time with all the problems of dealing with this, just as I read you all have. I am lucky as I live in the country
(AK BUSH) and do not go anywhere. So if I even am having a bad time with my IBS and have to stay close to the bathroom, I am always home. I don't think I could do much, go out much, or even work with the problems of IBS and the added fistula too. Is
this a problem that goes with IBS, Celiac, or is it just a Crohn's problem? I am confused here as to which problem the fistula was caused from. They just don't "happen". So I know I have IBS but do not know for sure if I have Celiac, but really do believe so. Do
others with IBS/Celiac have fistulas too?
I am kind of like my daughter that said that she is going to quit going to the Dr, every time she goes, they find something else wrong with her. It seems like finding the problem is easy, it is DOING SOMETHING about it is what is hard. My family do not tolerate drugs very well. I have just decided I am going to try the alternate route and I have had much more success with it. Some of the health issues I have are chronic, like the Lymes I have had for over 25 yrs. All I can do is make my life better than it is was.
I constantly am researching on products, herbs, etc that will help me and my family. I have gone to a mostly grain free diet. I have allergies/sensitivity to wheat, rye, barley, oats (can tolerate some), & whole grain ANYTHING even brown rice (can eat WHITE rice some) bothers me. So I do use spelt flour when I bake which is very seldom now. But I find the less grains I eat the better off I am.
