Weight Gain on Amitiza?

Has anyone gained weight while  on amitiza? I know it isn't stated as a side effect but I am starting to wonder if it could be.

Wish I could help, but haven't ever taken that drug.

Not much. It only works about 25% of the time and I get shortness of breath with it all of the time.

were you diagnosed with IBS?

Your doctor know about the shortness of breath with it?

Ever had a sitz marker test or pelvic floor testing?

So its constipation IBS and not other C problems.

Have they given you other options/meds to try instead of the amitiza?

It would seem odd at least to me that the drug would cause weight gain. How much have you gained and for how long?

They also said I have pelvic floor dysfunction. I went through outpatiend therapy for it a while back and bought a home monitor to do therapy at home. It is a long slow process and who knows when it'll really "work" as each day is a challenge. I also have sugar intolerances and have to be SO careful what I eat. I am wondering if my main issue is really the sugar and the PFD. My gastro doesn't really listen to me, just wants me to take meds and I am trying to find a new doctor. Also would a sugar intolerance cause temporary weight gain (as in fluid buildup)?
