Hi everyone, i am brand new to this kind of forum. I am a 40 year old male living in the UK.
My issue is this. For the last 8 or 9 months i have had persistant bowel issues, mainly loose stools and sometimes just water. This is interspersed with movements that gather on the bottom of the toilet and look just like a brown powder. Other times i pass softer formed motions, sometimes small, thin and snakey, other times its as if its solid but barely formed, breaking into fragments in the bowl. I thought that my stools contained mucous, but my GP defined mucus as jelly like and a sperate constituant. What i pass is just very wet.
Recently since i have started to become more concerned i have started to get sparodic and transient pain in the abdomen, which would appear to follow the path of the colon.
I had my Gall-bladder removed 6 months ago, and an upper gi endoscopy to my duodenum which showed no issues.
My GP Is adamant that i have IBS but i have nagged him into reffering me on to a specialist (Only because i have private cover...)
Does anybody have any similar symptoms or advice? I am convincing myself that this is something extremely serious, which is no doubt making it worse. I just find it amazing that i can have 39 years of normal bowel movements and then it can change so much!!
I thank you in anticipation of your help.
