Hi Mary. I've healed well from ther surgery and am doing pretty good physically, but I have been having ups and downs with depressive feelings and a bad case of restless legs at night that I didn't have bfore the surgery. It drives me crazy rubbing my feet together, shifting my legs, getting up to walk, etc. I really have a hard time sleeping anymore .
I have to see my surgeon on the 13th, I'll let him know everything. He already told me to take liquid vitamins and to get B12 shots. My primary doc did say that my blood work showed that I'm a little anemic and to tell my surgeon about it. I've read that iron and other vitamin deficiencies can cause restless legs and other physical and mental symptoms; so maybe I need some more supplements. But overall, I'd say I'm doing pretty well since I'm still on the mend.
How have things been going with you, Mary??? I hope you're hanging in there and fighting the good fight.
God bless you, my friend.
Tom
Hi Tom,
I've been following your journey on here - and I'm glad to see you are doing well! I hope you're continuing to feel better every day.
I am in the middle of my sitzmark test, I go in to UNC on Thursday for my xray, anorectal manometry, and a breath test. I know the markers are still in me and needless to say I am getting pretty uncomfortable! But reading back through everyone's stories here, including yours, helps remind me of how important these tests are, and that there may be some light at the end of the tunnel.
I wanted to jump in on your post because I read that you said you'll be getting B12 shots - I recently went to my primary care doc because I was feeling really tired and had a lot of headaches and was having a hard time sleeping...he did bloodwork and said my B12 levels were VERY low, and I am now doing the B12 shots weekly. It's been 3 weeks since my first injection and since that day I have not had a single headache and have more energy. So if you haven't looked into the B12 yet, I would definitely recommend it.
