I know this subject has been posted about before and I have actually never posted on a site like this but I feel like I really want to this time.....I have suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome for YEARS! Probably about 22 years and it has really been a burden for me. I have the big "D" side of IBS. I have gone to numerous gastroenterologists through the years and have had numerous tests done. Always clear and always told "well, it looks like IBS". about 10 years ago, I had my gallbladder removed because they said that it was not functioning properly, no stones, just not functioning.
So a new endo doctor suggested Welchol to me a few months ago, I had never heard of it. She said to give it a try because it has shown to help people without gallbladders who suffer from IBS and that it was considered a safe med. So I gave it a try and HOLY *&#$, my IBS is GONE!!!!!!!! It is truly amazing and has changed my life! What a relief, I never thought I would know in my lifetime what it would be like to not run to the restroom after enjoying a nice meal at a restaurant. Or worrying how I would make it through a 5 hour plane ride without having to use the gross airplane bathrooms.
Anyway, if my post can help anyone out there, it is so worth posting! I wish I had known about Welchol years ago! But am so, so thankful that I know about it now!! I am curious to know if it has helped any with IBS who still have their gallbladder??
Thank you!!
