I have had IBS-D for approx. 4 years. I don't have the diarrhea everyday but when I do experience it I just took immodium until my Digestive dr. prescribed Diphenoxylate/Atropine Liquid which I have found works somewhat better than the immodium. Since about
November occasionally I have been having pain on my right side right under my ribs. The first time it happened (November) I went to urgent care and they sent me to the emergency room. They did blood work and a cat scan and came up with squat. So I made an appt. with this new digestive dr. (couldn't stand my gastro doctor, wouldn't explain why's or anything so I kicked him to the curb). My digestive doc. wanted to do an MRI and a endoscopy. MRI found nothing; endoscopy found a polyp and a irritated stomach which he says looked stress related, and several spots on my liver which he says is nothing (he specializes in the liver). I was still having the pain and told him I just didn't think it was my IBS cause I had never had pain in this particular spot and wondered if it could by my gallbladder. So a fasting ultrasound was scheduled and no stones were found. Since Nov. I have had about
6 more episodes with this awful pain. I'm beginning to wonder if it could be my gallbladder. I have scheduled an appt. with a surgeon for my gall bladder but I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do now after reading everything about
gallbladder removal. I just went through the pain thing again which has lasted about
1 week this time. I just don't know what to do. Any info. will be greatly appreciated.
