Colonoscopy Prep Questions

I am having a colonoscopy Friday morning early.  Have been given Suprep.  Can anyone tell me how it tastes.  I opened the bottle and it smells like cough syrup.  So I'm guessing it will taste like watered down cough syrup once I mix it with the water????????

Also, I have a very sensitive "gag reflex" and tend to throw up easily with smells and stuff that tastes bad.  Can I take a Compazine (anti-nausea med) about an hour prior to starting to drink the prep in hopes I won't throw up?

Any advice or experience with this prep would be appreciated.

I had one last Friday, I was lucky I told some over the counter prep magnesium citrate. It was kinda nasty but I drank a lot of water to get rid of the taste. much luck!

I haven't used SuPrep, but with the my preps (I think I've only used Colyte, as well as the magnesium citrate the second time because the Colyte wasn't working), I've gotten the liquid very cold before drinking and that helped with the yucky taste. I also agree that drinking with a straw can help or simply holding your nose while you drink it. It's best to drink it as quickly as possible (based on how much your doctor has told you to consume). I had to drink one glass of Colyte mixture every 10 minutes. My doctor also said I could use some kinds of flavorings (e.g., Crystal Light lemonade), but you should check with your doctor to see if doing something like that would be okay.
