Hello All,
I would like to say that I will keep this short but somehow, I don't think this is going to be short.
I am experiencing some moderate problems.
I am 28 years old and only 2 years into recovery from Anorexia which I had from the age of 9. So that is the start of the problem, the digestive system seriously dislikes poor eating habits and as a result I have an extremely lazy intestine. There is then the second part of my problem, I am extremely shy about all bathroom habits, I will only 'go' at home, I will not discuss the problem openly with anyone except my partner.
So I believe that these things combined have caused this awesome constipation that I suffer from. Most of the time I can not tell you the last time I went because it is not something that has ever been in my daily routine.
about 3 months ago everything changed, I had what I believed to be a stomach upset, bad food or just a bug. I know now differently.
It starts out like a hunger pain, with all the gurgling sounds that come along with a relatively empty stomach, then the acid will rise and fall. The next day that hollow feeling dead centre below my rib cage will get slowly more sharp and start to fall down to my tummy area, then by the time the evening is over the pain is radiating throughout my whole stomach, most extreme pain is along the side of my stomach. Then the next day I will have to expel, very fast and often, with excruciating cramps that literally exhaust me, this will subside eventually and my stomach feel delicate for a another day or so, but it then repeats a couple of weeks later.
I have tried a diet change, thinking that it is possible that I am eating all the incorrect things, I have monitored my diet to see if there is a food that sparks this bout but so far I have come up empty.
My next thought may be a little drastic but I want to make this go away. I read on several IBS forums that enemas can help with regularity and one site is very detailed about a long process of immediate, low and high colonic cleansing. I thought about the downside to this step, being that I would be removing the good bacteria along with the bad in that cleanse, so I will be consuming probiotic yogurt for a few days after this process.
I just would like to know if this sounds 'safe' or if I have found information that seems plausible only because I am desperate for relief.
Kindest Regards
KJ
