Natural Remedy for IBS?

This is my first post.  I've been an IBS sufferer since the first Gulf War back in 91'.  I've tried the diet but it only lasts so long before I just really want to eat onions again!

 

Anyway I'm wondering if anyone has come accross anything that helps that isn't a prescription.  I don't have health/prescription insurance. 

 

My symtoms are; 1. frequently going (3 to 6x daily).  2. Inconsistant stools (either liquid, semi-liquid or very hard) and 3. ( a burning and unfinished feeling post movement).

There's no known remedy, just stuff to help feel better. By the way, thanks for serving in the military and giving us freedom. Im an active military supporter due to my brother being KIA in Iraq. Its one of my ways to honour him.

I had all those symptoms and a few more...like bloating and mucous in my stools. I tried a number of medications like Immodium and Lotronex with minimal results. Then my Mom ordered online an IBS Kit that was natural with IBS Botanicals and a liquid Homeopathic IBS Support formula. I felt better within the 1st week and now after a few months on it have seen my symptoms have seemed to clear up and my stools have been normal. It has only been a little over 3 months so may need more time to see but I am hopeful! turn

Stinson55-what was the natural remedy that your mom got online? I'd be interested in trying it.

See if you can try the probiotic i have been taking. Its been great for me, my mom and a few of my friends. I would recommend it for sure! Its a little expensive, my mom pays about $35 a month, i take double she does, so its about $70 a month for me. But is definatley better then the money i was spending on immodium and pepto :) its called Viazorb. I've never seen a store front, but the website is www.medizar.com
