Wow okay.. have you tried taking something called Imodium? These tablets can help constipation and relieve you of symptoms.

Seems to me like you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome of the Constipation type, if things still get worse.. medical advise may be necessary.

No imodium helps to treat constipation, if your taking these for diarrhea, then it's making matters worse for you.

Yes, it worked for the constipation I had just a few weeks ago, I haven't been constipated or had Diarhea since :).

Hi there, I just registered onto this forum so I could reply to this! All amitiza threads I find are old.

I have been on and off Amitiza for about a year now. My side effects have been all over the place. I CANNOT figure out a pattern to why sometimes the side effects are crippling to no side effects at all.

I originally was prescribed 24mg 2x a day. Some days it works amazing, other days nothing at all. I can't figure it out? But what I have noticed that the more effective the drug is, the worse my side effects are.

I almost had to go to the hospital one night the side effects were so bad... but other times nothing at all.

Therefore my advice to you is take it as you were prescribed for 2 weeks and see how your body reacts. What I have gathered from reading forums on Amitiza is that people have all kinds of different reactions. For myself, I now only take the drug (24mg) when I REALLY need it and I have 8mg to take on a more regular basis.

I am sorry Riogran1! Maybe try taking it on an empty stomach. I know some say that makes the side effects worse but since you don't have anything maybe that will help? I also find in the morning if I do some cardio about 20 minutes AFTER taking the Amitiza, like walking or riding a bike, that seems to help get things moving. I also put benefiber in a lot of my liquids throughout the day (I have a benefiber/protein shake w/skim milk every morning). And I sometimes use time stool softeners and laxatives. It took me a while but it seems like I have found a combination of everything I listed above to get me some-what regular.

immodium is to stop diarrhea. If a constipated person takes immodium it will really block them up. Rosemary
