kim123,
Thanks for the info! As for me, I've tried going gluten-free, but that's when my constipation got so much worse...I'd always been prone to it, but have never had anything like this. I thought going gluten-free was supposed to make me feel better! I don't want to go back to eating gluten, but I was discussing my problem on another thread, and someone said they had the same problem when they went gluten-free. They went on to say that they went on Heather's "diet" and felt much better. I'm so confused!
I also do try to minimize carbs, as I'm diabetic, but I can't honestly describe my diet as "low" carb. I'm vegetarian, so going gluten-free and low-carb really limits my choices. I am thinking about going back to eating fish, but haven't done it yet. (I've been vegetarian for over twenty years, so it would be a big change for me.)
I have tried probiotics--been on them for the last six weeks with no change at all, which was disappointing. I had a colonoscopy to rule out large intestine problems, but none were found. That doctor prescribed Miralax, but I don't want another prescription, and I feel like if I feed my body right, I won't need one, but I am struggling.
A few days ago, I started taking Citrucel caplets, and they've helped a little, but there's still something not right. I really don't want to go back to eating gluten, but it's looking better all the time!
Thanks so much for your ideas and input--it's appreciated!!
