Hello,
I have had IBS - type C for over 20 years and am getting to my whits end with it. My primary symptoms have been mild constipation, excessive gas and bloating, nausea, intestinal cramping, heartburn and lower right quadrant (LRQ) pain.
When I was younger, the symptoms came and went but I could pretty well manage it with a good diet, exercise and minimizing stress.
Recently, though - even with a good diet and exercise, the symptoms are nearly constant and the lower right quadrant pain is almost intolerable.
I was just wondering if anyone else with IBS has experienced this type of LRQ pain. The character of the pain is as follows: Most of the time it is a dull, buring, pressure (located just in from the right side hip bone.) At times, the pressure seems to be activating a nerve and then I feel the pain shooting down my leg. The pain is somewhat relieve by pressing on the area. The worst time of day is in the evening and the best in usually right after I have a bowel movement in the morning. This pain has been with me for at least the past 10 years and is different from the normal IBS lower abdomen cramping pain.
I have had the following tests over the past 5 years: Ultrasound, CAT scan, endoscopy, bacterial overgrowth, blood work to check for gluten intolerance, blood in stool and all the other "normal" GI and GYN stuff. Every test is negative and no doctor can even offer a theory about why I have the LRQ pain.
Thanks for any advice, thoughts - anything : (
