I was diagnosed with IBS a while back, but my symptoms are so severe. constant severe bloating, all the time. Constant acid in my stomach buring and acid reflux even if I eat nothing. I always feel sick.   My doctor won't send me for further testing, he just blows me off and keep switching medication.  They work for a few days and then I am sick again.  The only test i had done was the upper endoscopy, they found nothing so decided it must be IBS. Is it possible there is something else wrong with me and i don't know about it? I feel I keep getting worse.

Has anyone done any bloodwork to look at your iron count and inflammatory markers?

there are measurements labs can make from blood tests of C-reactive protein, which can be elevated if you are suffering from inflammation somewhere, and "sed rate," usually marked as ESR - I know less about this test.

Has anyone ever discussed your diet with you? When your intestines are that irritated, it's likely that you have a number of food intolerances. If you continue to eat these foods, your symptoms will continue to get worse. You don't need to do expensive testing to determine what foods are most problematic. The simplest and most effective way of finding out how much better you could feel would be to do a 2 week elimination diet. I would recommend that you do that with the guidance of a nutrition professional so that you can be certain to get the proper nourishment while eliminating the most likely triggers. Have you ever been gluten and dairy free?

Hello,

My diet is not the problem. I eat healthy, but get sick off of heallty food as well, veggies,fruit etc, all make me sick. That is what really makes scares me is even eating healthy I am still so sick. I feel best when my stomach is empty. i have become afraid to eat.

I know how awful and scary it is to be so sick. I am sorry that you are suffering. Your body needs nutrients to heal. I always make a big pot of chicken soup for my husband when he is in a flare. It's a great way to get some healing protein that is easy to digest.
There are many foods that are considered healthy that can be a big problem for someone who is as inflammed as you are. Have you ever done a complete elimination of dairy, gluten, soy, sugar (very acidic), food dyes and chemicals? It would be worth a try.

I have an update. i WAS FINALLY REFERRED TO a gynacologist and found out due to my doctor giving me domperidome for my stomach my prolactin levels are extremely high threw the roof. I have no menstration and my breasts now have milk. My stomach has been upset because my hormones in my body are all screwed up and I now have a only a very thin lining left on my uterus. So it turns out the medication I was on has only made me worse. I am very upset the doctor never told me the side effects of this medication and never told me it is given to pregnant mothers to induce breast milk. Now I have to go for a ct brain scan to see if I have a tumor on my pituatary gland. BEWARE OF DOMPERIDOME!

The domperidone is not going to cause a tumor on your pituitary. They are looking for a tumor because of the high prolactin. I'm not sure domperidone can give you high prolactin, but you are right, it is given to help nursing mothers maintain a supply sometimes.

Your Gyno should have told you that domperidone can cause stomach issues. Sorry that happened to you.

I was told by my gynocologist that domperidome has caused all these problems and that domperidome can cause very high prolactin, that is what produces the breast milk in mothers a higher prolactin level. She told me to stop taking the medication immediatley, and wants to get it out of my system so the prolactin will decrease. I feel it should not be given to women who are not pregnant, it can cause infertility. Doctors should make there patients aware of this before putting someone on this medication.

So yes, domperidone can cause high prolactin. It is primarily used to manage nausea and vomiting. Not sure why your DR gave it to you in the first place, but I'm glad you've stopped taking it.

I really hope your doctors can help improve your symptoms!!! I was given Domperidone for my nausea and vomitting and it gave me sore breasts too. But didnt cause milk production. A friend of mine told me about a website where you can add your side effects to a drug. It is RxISK.org    It is an american site I think. But I think it is important that we start letting doctors and drug companies know how medications are affecting real people. Especially if the side effects are negative. Hope all goes well with your brain scan and your gynaecologist!!!
