i had my gallbladder removed about 2 1/2 months i guess i had it feb. 20th and im having diarrea

ive been having diarrea since i had my gallbladder removed and i breastfed my son and everytime i eat it seems like everything i eat goes right through me.. i dont know what i can take breastfeeding and plus i have ibs really bad.. when i go to the bathroom im in alot of pain where im in tears. is there anything i can take that is safe for me and my lil guy???

did your DR talk to you about cholestrymine? It's a bile binder. many people have bile salt diarrhea after having their gallbladder removed.

Also, are you making sure you eat low fat? Without a gallbladder, your ability to digest fats will be compromised.

no cuz i dont have insurance anymore. is there anything i can take over the counter?? im 25 soon to 26 and i got to eat high calories for me to keep producting milk for my son..

You should call the surgeon who removed your gallbladder and make sure s/he understands what's going on. You need to follow up with that DR, even if you don't have insurance.

And despite your need to continue nursing your son, you can still eat a low fat diet. You can get plenty of fat free calories from fruits and meats and low fat carbs like bread.

Can bile salt diarrhea make you feel nausea, feeling of fullnuss, fatigue, dizziness, heart palpitations and feel like you could fainit?? It doen't happen to me all the time but 9 times out of 10 30 mins to an hour after i eat i will get D (watery yellowish in colour it's gross i know) then i will experience the symtopms i just mentioned above :\
