Yes another do I have IBS-help!

Hi,

Finally decided at the ripe old aged of 33 that I should maybe go speak to my doctor about this but thought I would try here first.

For as long as I can remember I've had frequent bowel movements and quite a bit of wind, never really bothered me and just got on with it. I suppose its also quite embarrassing to talk about.

Anyway, I'm big into the gym and have been for 10 years so my diet is hight protein based and low carbs mainly.

I go through phases where I feel ok, still 3-4 movements a day but nothing more then it all sort of flares up and there seems to be endless wind that makes my stomach feel a little bloated until obviously it gets out. Today I have felt like I need to go the toilet all the time and when I do its mostly just gas and not a lot of stool.

At times there is blood when it flares up and I can feel for sure that I would have some haemorroids. Nothing that feels uncomfortable and doesn't prevent me doing anything, but its like they flare up and that's where the blood appears. I go through the above with a lot of gas them it calms down.

I wouldn't say its food related as I eat the same things until the weekend where my diet does slacken for some treats.

My dad a couple of years back was diagnosed as being a Celiac and I seem to inherit everything else off him so I am thinking it could be that. The only thing is I wouldn't say I have the symptoms of a malnourished guy, I'm in pretty good shape from all the weight training at the gym. Saying that my dad wouldn't have this symptom either but he had to change his diet totally to be gluten free.

He put me off going to see the doctor as he said in the hospital they just rammed the camera down his throat and he was sore for days. I could gag at the thought of that going near my mouth never mind it going down. I think they also pinched a bit of his stomach lining to test and again that wasn't pleasant.

I am now about to begin a new job and I don't want to be doing toilet runs all the time so I thought I better get dealing with this and came across this forum.

Any advice/diagnosis welcome

Yes of course, I will book in with my GP asap.

I wouldn't say worried, more its just becoming a nuisance and I would like to sort it out. I am more worried about the tests more than anything but I can't deny the more you read the worse it could be and it does get me thinking something is majorly wrong

Yes I read that earlier, I will keep going as normal for now.
