Inflammation in natal cleft (aka butt crack)

  I am new here; hello to you all;

This is somewhat embarassing; I am an older woman and have developed pretty severe irritation in the area called the natal cleft; this is the top of the butt crack that shows if you bend over without something tucked in. I had it before but hydrocortisone always took care of it. I have now had this problem for 2 months and now I am using Lotrimin cream; there is itching and some skin breakdown. my plan will be to go to a dermatologist soon but wondered if anybody has had this problem and what they did about it.

  i think it is fungal so I am trying Lotrimin cream before I make an appt with a derm.  so far i think i am going to need that appt. I appreciate your response.
