  Hi I was first dx with H-pylori after endoscopy with biopsy back in summer, Was treated for that

  Then with continued pain and problems was tested for SIBO (small intestine bacteria overload) came up positive, was treated for that.

Since both treatments I tested that both had been eradicated, yet I am still having pain DAILY and soft to runny stools several xs a day

SO Gi said its all IBS...well can IBS cause pain every stinkin day? and I burp a lot too, that's been one of the 1st symptoms I had, along with pain in my gut

what can I do???? should I have another endoscopy? my pain is pretty bad and that along with Fibromyalgia I am a heap of mess.

I am trying my best to be Gluten free.

My other question is if it is IBS would Pepto Bismol help??? Because it does!?! that's what makes me think its in my gut not my intestines

Have you tried eliminating lactose? Fructose? Any other thing besides gluten?

Have you had a colonoscopy or any stool studies done?

Couldn't hurt to add probiotics your regime. I wouldn't fight it for too long, a good gastro would want to scope you, and redo stool tests to look for other infections. A food diary might also help them understand your issues. Don't know about Pepto...seems harmless if it helps.

Hi. When I was diagnosed with ibs I got on here and read a thread where people were talking about diets. One mentioned was the gaps diet. Since then I have used this diet three times to turn around my symptoms.

Like you, my ibs symptoms include daily continual pain. It gets to a point where I just can't eat anymore. It felt like my intestines were inflamed. Until I found this diet I would go on a fast till symptoms subsided. Now I have something more nutritious to do. So far it has worked each time I tried it. I start with the introductory diet and adhere to the step up program exactly. It is a little inconvenient, but worth it.

I have ibs-c, and follow recommendations for that, but there are also other options.

The first time I did it I had to stay at the first step for ten days before symptoms began to subside. Since then it takes four or five days.

In my case, I have to be completely gluten free. Even a tiny bit of gluten will incite symptoms. It sounds like you haven't tried that yet.

It is difficult to change your diet, but the sacrifice is worth it if it means Being symptom free more of the time.
