Went to G I DR.today postive for c diff, he said no more medicine for now,because i had taken so much. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Ithought you always to be treated for c diff.

I thought so too. I would google or bing and see if there are instances when C. diff is NOT treated.

i've been reading up alot on c diff. cause i may have it, myself. i'm waiting for lab results but its been un bearable 30x diarrhea/day. i took some cipro 3 weeks ago, and was 100% recovered, until 3 days ago, severe diarrha and cramping.
only in very mild cases of almost asymtomatic c diff do you just watch it and wait.
but most cases they want to put u on flayll or vancomycin. the ironic thing is even flagyl itself can cause c diff.

i've been up all night diarrhea 10+. so i decided to start the flagyl... hoping it doesn't make my ibs worse and mess up my flora.

i can't wait until monday when/if the lab result comes back. our medical system is very inefficient...
are you having any symptoms?

miaka, how long did it take for the c diff lab results? its been over 4 days for me, and the lab still haven't gotten any results!! frustrating what to do next!!

I got C. Diff last year from a surgery procedure in the hospital. Had severe gastritis after taking antibiotics. Has anyone had this happen?

Hi!
OMG! I just got over this dreadful disease! It was God awful and all within the middle of severe IBS! So when it came on, I didn't know?,lout you'll know! The gas felt like an alien baby was in me! I felt a severe kick on the left then right then low. No may not happen in your case. But I ended up with a fever, which I rarely get. My regular D, turned uncontrollable. I mean fecal incontinence. And GRAPHIC. But medical, the color changed to off white.
Called me dr, but knew he'd say ER. I'm ex medical field, but I didn't know of c diff. Oh and the odor is completely different.
Ok? I had not been in hosp, but I had been on several bouts of anti-biotics. And us that have IBS and gastro disorders and diseases are prone to this .
I was very very ill.
Still am, but not from this.
And beware! Tests are false pos, false neg..go to CDC A lot of good info,
