New to Site & Hoping to get Help!

I am new to this site. A brief history: I started with a cold that turned into bronchitis 2 months ago. An antibiotic was prescribed to treat a possible pneumonia but I had already had an episode of diarrhea prior to antibiotic. I developed on & off liquid diarrhea but now have had explosive watery diarrhea for 9 days. I am afraid to eat as the cramping, gas & explosive liquid BM's just will not stop. I have been taking Imodium with good success until the following morning when the symptoms start over again. I saw my Doc last Friday & stool specimens for C&S and O&P were ordered. No results yet. I was in Hawaii for 10 days in early November but did not get cold or any other symptoms until 3 weeks later. The other 3 people with me only got colds.
I have read on this site that Gaviscon with meals has worked for some people. I am avoiding dairy, fatty or fried foods & fruits. I actually have eaten only porridge for most of past week as any meats cause great discomfort. I am also experiencing aching legs....could this be due to electrolyte imbalance from dehydration? I feel lousy...so fatigued I can't go out. And of course the availability of a bathroom is a concern. I don't know if I have IBS but it sure sounds like what many people on this site are enduring. I have 2 questions: Are probiotics recommended and Can Gaviscon be taken in chewable form or only as a liquid? Thank you so much for taking the time to read my concern. I have been unwell for 2 months now.

I called my Doc this afternoon & requested results. I was told it would take up to 2 weeks to get results. So frustrating.

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes I think they were testing for C-Diff as well as MRSA. I did have first bout of diarrhea prior to antibiotics....it lasted a week. It stopped but returned after antibiotic treatment & has been nearly continuous.
