I have had that happen... and for a long time. If it is candida causing your bloating the McCombs plan really does work to get rid of it and will flatten your stomach out. For those of you who live outside of the country, one of the components to the plan is Candida Force, and Thorne Research also make Formula SF722 which is the same thing and is sometimes easier to find if you are outside of the USA. I would also suggest getting your heavy metals tested though, because mercury or heavy metal poisoning can cause all kinds of GI Problems too. The Toxic metals challenge test from Doctors Data is the test for heavy metal toxicity. You can always call Doctor's Data and ask them for the name of a doctor who uses that test in your area and does the 6 hour challenge. I hope this helps you. I should also say, I've done the McCombs Plan twice. Again, it really does work for candida. My problem is that it keeps coming back, so there is another root cause for the continued return of the candida dysbiosis. The answer to that - I just found out I tested for very toxic levels lead and mercury, in addition to some other heavy metals. The doctors think that is the root cause of my problems. I am sharing this information with you so that you may be able to test for that and rule it out as a root cause. I never would have suspected heavy metals, and it cost me A LOT of money and many visits to many different doctors to find that out. I am currently at the beginning of IV chelation treatments to get the metals out.
If you decide you want to do some testing on the dysbiosis / disbacteriosis, I recommend doing the test now before you start antifungals or probiotics. The test is from Genova Diagnostics, and it is called the CDSA 2.0. You can always call Genova and ask them for a doctor who uses that test near your zip code.
Other testing that was important for me:
Your Iodine levels - Doctor's Data makes a test for this. Iodine is one of your detox pathways.
Also check your heavy metals. Lead can cause chronic constipation. Doctor's Data also makes a test for heavy metals - the 6 hour Urine heavy metals challenge test. Heavy metals can also cause persistent candida (especially mercury).
Again, just call Doctor’s Data and ask them for a doctor who uses those tests near your zip code.
