Hello guy was wondering if any of you out there has these symptoms or if it's just me I've had a dull ache pain in my right side now for 6 months every so often it's like it flares up and comes across to my stomach get really bad wind, and what feels like an ibs flare up even hurts when I wee sometimes usually lasts 3-4 days then goes back to my original dull ache on the left side been to the hospital many times now and I'm having a rear camera this Saturday coming very scared about that! Just wondering if you guys think it's ibs or if it's something more serious thanks for your time, James

There can be so many things that is causing the discomfort you are feeling. Once you have the scope, it should reveal what is the cause of your issues. At this point we could only be guessing as we are not doctors. But no need to be scared about the scope. Are you having a colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy? Either way, it's really not that bad. I've had numerous scopes over the course of 20+ years.

When you have the scope, please come back and let us know the outcome okay?

What sort of prep are you using?

Yes I will do my biggest fear is of course bowel cancer but I've had no blood in my stools or any weight lost and have had no swelling of the stomach just very scared about the hole thing and hoping Saturday will give me a good answer just hoping it will be something little like ibs

I hope it gives you good answers too :) There is nothing more horrible when something happening to your insides and you have no idea what is going on. I wish you well and sincerely I hope things come out okay.

But you didn't answer my question...which prep are you using? If you tell me, I can possibly tell you how to make things go easier on you. Like I said...I'm a veteran at the scopes since I have many bowel issues myself and have had numerous scopes.

Also certains foods make it flare up especially fried foods and alcohol

A colposcopy is a scope of the cervix and vagina...and by your user name I am assuming you are male? ;)

When they examine the colon, it is called a colonoscopy. This is where they put you under light sedation and put a camera up your bum to view the entire large intestine. A sigmoidoscopy is where they just examine the lowest portion of your large intestine not the whole thing and sedation isn't usually required.

If you are having a colonoscopy they have you do a prep to clear you out. Meaning getting rid of the feces so they can see what is going on. What sort of prep are you having to clean you out?

They sent me sachets in the post to take the day before I have it done. From what symptoms I have described to you do you think it could be bowel cancer?

I'm not a doctor so I couldn't possibly tell. But try not to worry until you have your scope. The scope will confirm or reject your fears.

Hiya I may have IBS I HAVE BEEN TO THE DOCTORS AND THATS WHAT THEY ARE SAYING, my stomach has been swollen for a year now and it won't go down it just gets bigger can any one help me

Do you have pains after eating certain foods is the pain there all the time? Maybe you should asked to be refered to a specialist that's what I did and I'm hoping to get my answer Saturday

Had the camera inside of me today and everything was normal couldn't find anything wrong
